Day 12

Day 12. What do you think Lorelai is doing right now?

It's almost 1pm in here right now... so it's almost 1pm in Stars Hollow.  I believe that Lorelai just left The Dragonfly and is heading to Luke's for a "the biggest cheeseburger ever... let's break a record here, mister!".  She is meeting Rory for lunch, because Rory has a few days of her vacation left (she and Jess just got back from Morocco) before she needs to get back to her job at The New York Times.  Lorelai and Luke have been married for about four years by now.  I can't decide if they have children together...

What do you see Lorelai doing at this very moment?

Day 11

I know I'm a few days behind... DEAL!

Day 11. If you could have had a crossover episode with Gilmore girls and any other show, which show would it be?

M*A*S*H.  Not only because it's one of my favorite (non-Gilmore) shows...  but because I think I'd love to see the back-and-forth between Lorelai and Hawkeye.  They're both so quick witted, appreciate the ridiculousness of life and live in a world of their own making.

They also both really like martinis.  Although Lorelai's aren't brewed in a still of her own making in a dirty tent in Korea.  Potato, potaahto.

Now tell me, what show mash-up would you like to see with the lovely ladies of Stars Hollow?

My mom touched the Pope!

And by "the Pope", I mean someone Gilmore girls-adjacent.  And by "touched", I mean "put a Band-Aid on".

Mama Bear works at a hotel in Denver, Colorado (and no, I wont tell you which hotel, you stalker!).  She recently informed me that The Shins would be staying at her hotel for a show they have scheduled at Red Rocks.  She didn't know who The Shins were, so by the magic of Google, she realized that I might have a slight interest in her hotel's current guests.

Who are The Shins?

video

They are the guys who basically contributed the soundtrack to Paris and Rory's steamy, yet short-lived tryst ("So Says I": season 4, episode 17).

They also provide the song Rory was listening to when she was so rudely interrupted by the guidance counselor ("Know Your Onion": season 2, episode 7), under El Hefe's direct orders to socialize the youngest Gilmore.

Apparently the bassist got a boo-boo from a piece of luggage, and Mama Bear (as a typical mom) rushed in with her extensive first-aid knowledge (that consists of "here's a Band-Aid") and saved the day.  Technically, if you're going to see The Shins at Red Rocks... my mother just saved the concert for you.  YOU'RE WELCOME!

75% down!

So, this was pretty much my view all weekend long...

On Saturday, Sunday and Monday (thank God for long weekends) ... I pretty much spent all day in the glorious sunshine, in the same chair, with a rotating glass of Riesling, coffee or iced cold Diet Pepsi at my side... trying to plow through the rest of Don Quixote (figuring that it'd be better drunk, and therefore easier to focus on.  I was wrong.).

Although I didn't finish it yet, I was proud of the fact that I read more of the book over these past three days than over the past two months (and yeah, I know the week long vacation really doesn't make a dent in the reason why it's taken me so long).  Though that's probably something to be ashamed of, too.

All in all, I think I'm over the hump that is Don Quixote's prostrate, windmill-kicked body.  I'm hoping to finish it within the next couple of days.  If I don't turn on Supernatural (bye bye Jensen Ackles!), I should be golden!

Ahhhhh...

Sitting outside on this gorgeous day... Drinking coffee and reading Don Quixote. It's my goal to finish it this weekend... I need to move on.

What are the rest of you doing on this beautiful Saturday?

Day 10

Day 10. What’s your funniest/craziest Gilmore girls related story that you want to share?

I feel like it's cheating, but it is, hands-down, my craziest Gilmore girls related story:

Do YOU have anything to share with the class about a Gilmore girls related experience?

Day 9

Day 9. What is the number one thing that’s happening in pop culture right now that you wish the Gilmore Girls were still around to talk about/make fun of?

source: Stars Hollow Confessions
Fifty Shades of Gray.  I would love to hear Lorelai and Rory rank on the people who apparently think this is great literature.

I would also love to hear them make fun of Twilight... Bella and Edward's unhealthy codependent dynamic.

I'd like to hear Lorelai compare Glee to Cop Rock.  Because I love Glee, I'd like to believe that Lorelai would love Glee as well.

I'd just love to hear references to Bieber Fever, Perez Hilton, Lady Gaga... I think the Gilmore girls would have a lot of material given the craziness of this time period!

What are some pop culture references you would love to hear the girls mention?
